RECO Intensive Sponsors the Florida Atlantic University Ice Hockey Team

Through our love for and support of the South Florida community, Team RECO has had the opportunity to meet and work with dozens of incredible organizations over the years. As part of our dedication to local education and sports programs, we are especially proud to announce that we will again sponsor the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) ice hockey team for the 2018-2019 season.

RECO Intensive founder David Niknafs grew up playing ice hockey just outside his hometown of Atlanta. Now local to South Florida, Niknafs and RECO have sponsored the Boca Raton-based Owls for two seasons running.

Pictured above, members of the FAU hockey program delivered a special jersey to Niknafs this past winter as a thank you for RECO’s continued support.

As an organization, RECO believes deeply in the importance of team-building and the value of education. With adults of all ages in our program seeking recovery from addiction, it is our mission to provide them with the skills and resources they need to form healthy relationships and pursue a fulfilling education or career.

Playing team sports can have a great impact on one’s sense of self and confidence, facilitate communication skills, and form lasting friendships. Team RECO plays regular softball games and encourages participation in many different sports, including yoga and horseback riding, which are included as part of our intensive outpatient treatment program in Delray Beach.

We are thrilled to support the FAU ice hockey team in its promotion of good sportsmanship and commitment to higher education, and are grateful for our continued relationship with the university.
