Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial Hospitalization Programs in Delray Beach, FL

RECOVERY WHILE SUPPORTING OBLIGATIONS

While some people who seek treatment for substance addiction require hospitalization full time so that they can be medically monitored for acute psychiatric symptoms or dangerous withdrawal symptoms, others may benefit from being able to return home.

Thus, a partial hospitalization program, which offers patients intensive outpatient treatment but allows them to live outside the program, can serve as a solution for those patients unable to attend a full-time treatment program at residential treatment centers.

For those overcoming a substance dependency, partial hospitalization offers a sense of flexibility, allowing clients to attend a rehab center part-time even while maintaining employment or other responsibilities.

For instance, a patient who is responsible for a child or older adults or must continue to work as the primary provider for their family may be able to participate in a partial hospitalization program even if they could not commit to a full-time treatment program.

Patients may also find partial hospitalization easier to accept since it allows them more contact with their loved ones and more control over their own schedule, and thus may be more likely to stay in treatment and achieve their behavioral health goals.

The cost of such a program can also often be lower than of residential treatment, so insurance may be more amenable to a partial hospitalization program than to conventional hospitals.

Similar in structure to residential mental health care programs, a partial hospitalization program also utilizes therapeutic techniques to address past behaviors while promoting new positive actions and associations. This curriculum allows clients the opportunity to immerse themselves in recovery, while also supporting their daily living obligations.

How Intensive Outpatient Programs Works

While participating in partial hospitalization programs, clients will be supervised and their progress monitored throughout. They will be expected to report to all scheduled appointments, and to communicate with all members of their clinical team.

This lessened form of supervision provides a less intense approach to residential care, so it also serves as a key option for those who must sustain nonnegotiable work or family schedules.

In a typical day program like a partial hospitalization program, patients may spend up to eight hours a day on up to five days a week engaging in various aspects of addiction treatment. Typically, a treatment team will first asses each patient to determine an appropriate treatment plan.

They may also determine whether the patient has any co-occurring mental health disorders that may be contributing to their substance dependence. Mood and anxiety disorders are common mental health comorbidities in addiction patients, which is why psychiatry and medication management are also a part of a typical partial hospitalization program.

Each treatment program will likely have an expert in behavioral health and psychiatry on hand who can provide this service, helping determine if a patient’s mental health could be improved by medication.

Even more importantly, behavioral health therapy can help patients to set recovery goals and to learn healthier coping skills, which they can use to combat symptoms of both addiction and related mental health problems.

One popular form of therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, focuses specifically on providing patients with education in emotional regulation and communication skills. Another, cognitive behavioral therapy is more focused on giving them the skills to identify and combat toxic thinking patterns.

A partial hospitalization program will also likely expect clients to participate in several hours a week of group therapy. By providing an opportunity for contact and connections with others who share their mental health struggles, this treatment can help combat the isolation that can be associated with addiction and to give program participants a safe space to process their past traumas.

Each patient’s schedule may also include several hours a week of holistic behavioral health treatment. In conjunction with conventional psychiatry and mental health treatment, these treatment options can help heal the “whole person,” ensuring that they are not left unchanged spiritually as well as psychologically.

The RECO Intensive Partial Hospitalization Program

At the RECO Intensive partial hospitalization program, clients will learn how to balance the amount of freedom necessary to grow while also continuing to put a strong focus on their treatment therapies. This balance is the first step towards Intensive Outpatient and follows a more involved level of care known as Residential rehab.

This outpatient program provides clients and their families with all available resources and promotes the 12-step model of recovery. Clients will interact with others in group therapy sessions, attend meetings, and rebuild foundations for a healthy lifestyle in recovery.

Our clients will attend numerous groups throughout the week, continue working with their individual therapist discovering underlying issues, and begin to build the foundation necessary for a successful transition into IOP. Staff specializing in psychiatry will also ensure that each patient receives the medication as well as therapy necessary for their successful recovery.

We accept most forms of insurance, and we are licensed by the Florida Department of Children & Family Services and accredited with a Behavioral Health Certificate of Excellence and by various branches of the Department of Health and Human Services.

We are also a member of the National Council for Behavioral Health and the Florida Behavioral Health Association as well as various other institutions with expertise in psychiatry and psychology.
