Intervention Services

Family-facing addiction intervention at RECO Intensive — professional interventionists who help families move someone from resistance to admissions with the right people in the room.

Intervention Services

The hardest part of recovery for many families is the conversation that gets the loved one to treatment in the first place. RECO Intensive's intervention services are professional-led family interventions — coordinated, scripted, and (when appropriate) facilitated by experienced interventionists who help families move from resistance to admissions.

What intervention services include

Pre-intervention consultation with the family. Strategy and script development. Coordination of timing, location, and participants. (Where appropriate) on-site facilitation by a trained interventionist. Coordination with RECO admissions so a confirmed treatment placement is ready the moment the client agrees. Family support after the intervention — successful or not.

What the intervention process looks like

  • Initial family consultation — confidential conversation about whether intervention is the right tool
  • Pre-intervention planning — strategy, participants, timing, location, communication structure
  • Family preparation — what each participant will say, what questions to expect, how to respond
  • The intervention itself — facilitated meeting with the loved one, prepared and supportive
  • Immediate admissions coordination — if the client agrees, treatment placement is ready
  • Follow-up support — for the family regardless of outcome

When intervention is the right tool

  • The loved one has consistently refused voluntary treatment
  • Substance use has reached a level where waiting feels dangerous
  • Family attempts at conversation have not produced engagement
  • Traditional one-on-one conversations have been tried
  • The family unit is willing to coordinate and follow a structured approach

When intervention is not the right tool

Some situations call for different approaches — Marchman Act civil-court petition (when the legal threshold is met), motivational interviewing approaches over time, or family-system therapy without a single intervention event. Our intervention specialists help families think through the right approach honestly, including when intervention isn't recommended.

Who this service serves

Families of individuals with active addiction who have refused treatment. Parents, partners, adult children, siblings who have tried other approaches without success. Families whose loved one's substance use has reached a danger threshold. Families needing professional support to coordinate a difficult conversation.

How intervention integrates with RECO treatment

The intervention is coordinated end-to-end with RECO admissions, so the moment the client agrees to treatment, placement is ready. Family-therapy work continues into treatment. The same intervention team that supported the family pre-admission can stay involved through treatment for continuity.

Why RECO's Intervention Services are different

Many "intervention services" are pre-admission referral arms of treatment marketing operations. Ours is a clinical service led by trained interventionists with the integration into RECO's treatment continuity that makes the intervention's success durable. The conversation in the living room is the beginning of the recovery — and it's treated that way.
