Yin & Vinyasa Yoga

Yin & Vinyasa Yoga

CONNECTING THE MIND & BODY WITH GINGER AT SATYA ANAHATA

All clients practice yoga at least once a week.

The purpose of yoga practice is to teach clients how to center themselves through breathing stretching, and meditation. RECO recognizes the need for individuals in early recovery to learn how to regulate their bodies, especially during times of stress and anxiety. The mind and body are connected, and a client can learn how to control their cravings and urges by regulating their body using exercises that combine the two like yoga and pilates.

An ancient practice with roots in wellness and healing, yoga serves to create a space in which you can release your fears, stress and misgivings. No matter your skill level, yoga offers an opportunity to tune in with our mental awareness, while connecting our thoughts with the physical body. Breath work and meditation serve as the basis for a rejuvenating practice which renews purpose and spiritual cognition.

By combining guided meditation and breathing techniques with invigorating and refreshing physical activity, yoga can help our clients find relaxation and restore balance and well being to their lives.

Our weekly group classes are led by our yoga teacher Ginger Bowden, who has completed a trauma informed 500 hour yoga teacher training and is qualified to provide yoga teacher training herself through her RYTS and YACEP certifications. She teaches in Delray Beach her studio, Satya Anahata Yoga. She has been teaching yoga for ten years with a specialization in helping clients release deeply held trauma and achieve inner peace “again.”

Weekly yoga class also helps our Delray Beach, FL clients to build community, hence why it is required for all clients. However, RECO recognizes that everyone may not be able to participate in yoga at a high level due to physical limitations. Ginger will thus provide modifications based upon the client’s individual needs, and will offer careful guidance to those who are new to the practice. For instance, chair yoga training may be available to those with certain physical limitations.

Satya Anahata Yoga

Satya Anahata Yoga or “True Heart Yoga”, is a studio/school and healing arts center located just a few blocks from RECO Intensive. The owner and teacher, Ginger Bowden, is deeply dedicated to working with RECO clients. She has been teaching yoga for ten years and has a specialized background in trauma-informed yoga and breath work. In addition to leading group sessions once a week at RECO, Ginger offers classes and a transformative 6-weekend yoga teacher training at her studio for RECO clients and Alumni. This trauma-informed course not only offers tools for stepping back into the world with new skills for success in sobriety, but also results in a 200hr RYT certification that can be used to teach. Ginger’s trauma-conscious, deeply healing approach involves sound healing, Yin and Restorative yoga, as well as Vinyasa and other disciplines – providing mind-body-spirit healing through movement, breath, and meditation.

Ginger is certified to teach Yoga for 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) in addition to an E-RYT500 and YACEP. More information is available at www.satyaanahatayoga.com.
